Location: Bar Harbor, Maine- Acadia National Park-Top of Cadillac Mountain

Whether the need is to relax or embrace sweat inducing activities, a vacation in Bar Harbor, Maine offers it all. Home to Acadia National Park, visitors may choose from quiet, out of the way walking trails-to sailing the bay-to climbing Cadillac Mountain. No matter what the urge, visitors are assured of undeniable beauty, fresh air and mind-clearing peace.

Situated on Frenchman Bay, we were blessed with- "pinch-me" -accommodations of the Regency Holiday Inn resort, where we discovered tennis courts, fine dining, heated pools and sensational service. Bar Harbor's quaint village was only minutes away via the resort's complimentary shuttle bus. Shopping in the village was a wallet's worst nightmare, as the options for spending were endless. From wild and crazy moose and lobster gifts to "would-kill-for" apparel, Bar Harbor lured the cash from your pocket in exchange for some of the most incredible products.  Restaurants teased the senses with silky lobster bisque and chowders, with one eatery, Testa's, offering a tasty blueberry iced tea. Delish! In spite of our over indulgence, we discovered that we spent far less than we thought, easing any vacation remorse, making it the perfect vacation. Visit this fabulous part of the United States-Bar Harbor, Maine

After four visits to the Walt Disney World Resort within ten years, the family shifted North and engaged in a New England vacation. Our travels through Massachusetts, Maine and Vermont eventually led us to North Conway, New Hampshire where we enjoyed an impressive and very affordable stay at the North Conway Comfort Inn & Suites. Upon arrival, our room had been pre-cooled and immediately ready for occupancy. Super clean and equipped with all the great inn amenities, we swam in the swimming pool, exercised in the fitness room and was able to launder much needed travel clothes in the guest laundry. Washer and dryer per load prices were surprisingly on par with Laundromats, but with better, cleaner machines. Quarters for the machine were easily available at the front desk, with a smiling staff, all too happy to accommodate.

Our room conveniently had a three shelf refrigerator, a microwave and the kitchen sink, too, enabling us to enjoy an in-room dinner, thanks to Hormel Completes Microwave meals; delicious to eat and a real money saver. After many restaurant meals, it was nice to relax on the couch, watch TV and eat a hot meal right out of the oven, for under $25.00. With two queen beds and a comfy couch with a pull out bed, we had more than enough room for all of us. Before long we all had had a hot shower and were tucked in for the night.

Many hotel chains now offer free WiFi/ Wireless internet access, speed can sometimes be a problem. Not the case with the North Conway Comfort Inn & Suites. My laptop was hooked up in seconds and I was able to check email, post to my Twitter and Facebook sites and launched a Skype video conversation with other family members. No delays. No frustration. No Problem.

If you find yourself in the North Conway area to visit Mount Washington or Wildcat Mountain, I would highly recommend a stay at the Comfort Inn & Suites. One perk I haven’t mentioned, is the Pirate’s Cove miniature golf course that is on the same property as the inn.  It was a summer package that was more like a gift. Location, convenience and affordability, all rolled into one.

Happy travels!
